International Children's Growth Awareness Day & Children's Growth Awareness Week

Children’s Growth Awareness Week

Children’s Growth Awareness Week takes place in September every year.

During this week, and in the weeks building up to it, international groups, charities and organisations like the Child Growth Foundation raise awareness of children’s growth.

The Child Growth Foundation is here to make a difference wherever growth is a concern, and this important week allows us to showcase how we’re here to support families with a concern, seeking a diagnosis or with a diagnosis.

Children’s Growth Awareness Week is an important chance to help drive the detection, referral and diagnosis of growth conditions, and to reach those who have a concern about their child’s growth to inspire them to get in touch to help wherever we can and to showcase that #GrowthMatters.

2025 Children’s Growth Awareness Week is 14 September – 20 September.

International Children’s Growth Awareness Day

International Child Growth Awareness Day happens on September 20th each year and is a worldwide event, organised by ICOSEP, the International Coalition of Organizations Supporting Endocrine Patients.

This special day aims to raise awareness amongst the public and healthcare professionals about children’s growth conditions and the importance of child measuring and understanding children’s growth.

Get involved

We’d love your help raising awareness during Children’s Growth Awareness Week (CGAW) and on International Children’s Growth Awareness Day (ICGAD).

To help our community raise awareness during CGAW and on ICGAD we’ve created a public board full of resources: https://trello.com/b/LI62Wozm/cgaw-icgad-2025. On this board you’ll find images, videos, infographics and more that you can download and share during CGAW, 14-20 September, and to mark International Children’s Growth Awareness Day (ICGAD) on 20 September.

Social media takeovers

The CGF runs takeovers for key days and weeks in the year, including for Children’s Growth Awareness Week and Rare Disease Day. You can catch up on previous takeovers here.
