November has been a busy month for our team, representing Child Growth Foundation (CGF) at external events across the UK. What a fantastic few weeks it has been!
Earlier this year our charity joined the Helplines Partnership, as we expand our phone and email based Support Line. Sally, our Growth Nurse Specialist, was pleased to join their Annual Conference at the start of this month for a day of talks, workshops and seminars.
It’s been so valuable to join the Helplines Partnership as calls and email to our much needed Support Line increase, to make sure we have a professional, safeguarded and supportive system in place for families getting in touch. The CGF have learnt some great tips and tools at this conference, along with meeting with other wonderful organisations providing valuable helplines.
Next up Sally and Lisa, our Paediatric Endocrine Nurse Specialist, attended the 50th meeting of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED); a great three days in Manchester focused on the treatment, care and support of children and young people.
Catriona, our Charity Manager, joined Society for Endocrinology’s (SFE’s) BES event in Glasgow, for an interesting and productive three days which provided a brilliant opportunity for the CGF to represent the children and families in the child growth community.
At both BSPED and SfE BES we’ve loved meeting and catching up with other patient organisations, healthcare professionals and other organisations, committees and groups in the field at these welcoming and friendly events!
Later this month Catriona will be heading to Beacon’s London Rare Disease Showcase in London, a jam packed day of talks and presentations on the innovations and advancements occurring in the field of rare diseases, alongside exhibiting with a CGF stand to raise awareness of our work to make a difference wherever growth is a concern.
