Important notification: Shortage of Hydrocortisone Sodium Phosphate injections

It has been bought to our attention that there is currently a shortage of Hydrocortisone Sodium Phosphate injections, with the shortage expected to be in place through to spring 2026.

When renewing supplies for your hydrocortisone emergency kits, the GP will need to provide a prescription for Hydrocortisone Sodium Succinate (100mg) powder for solution for injection. As Sodium Succinate comes in powder form it will need mixing with water for injection before administering.

Please speak to your health care team if you need instructions or a reminder on how to do this safely, and the My Cortisol app (links below) has information on dosage amounts.
Our nurse led Support Line is available if you have any queries, by phone, email or on our webform – click below to get in touch.
